Chelsea Harlan is the author of Bright Shade, selected by Jericho Brown for the 2022 American Poetry Review / Honickman First Book Prize. She holds a BA from Bennington College and an MFA from Brooklyn College, where she was a Truman Capote Fellow, and where she has enjoyed teaching English and creative writing. Her work appears or is forthcoming in The American Poetry Review, Raleigh Review, The Greensboro Review, The Southern Poetry Anthology, and elsewhere. Her home is in the Blue Ridge of Appalachian Virginia.
