Paul, It was a pleasure meeting you, and reading your work upon my return from the Pulitzer ceremonies.

I made my first visit to Arizona a few months ago and first learned about Arpaio then. After collecting a camera-supplied speeding ticket, being stopped at an immigration roadcheck, experiencing the border crossing at Nogales, and seeing state police lined up on the border of Navajo nation (yes, I covered a lot of the state during my visit), I realized that law enforcement is a major presence in your state. I admire what you've done, and again, congratulations on your Pulitzer.

Best of luck in your job search.

W.S. Merwin's poem "From the Start" is so true. While Ryan Gabrielson and I were working on the "Reasonable Doubt" series, we thought the work was its own reward. It was an important story that simply needed to be brought to the public's attention. Michael Wiegers, you're right on point as well. Thanks for the mention. And, ahem, my resume is available at www.paulgiblin.net.
