How does Copper Canyon Press use my information?

The information we receive allows us to tailor our Web site and improve your shopping experience, making it easier and more enjoyable. The information you volunteer enables us to process your purchases, confirm your orders, customize the content and layout of our pages, notify you about updates to our site and products, and provide you with correct information.

If you do not wish to receive such emails in the future, please send us a reply with "unsubscribe" in the subject line. Please note: In order to process your online purchases we will send you a confirmation email or contact you if we have questions about your order.

Rest assured that we would not sell, give, or trade your personal information with any other party. We get far too much junk mail to ever do that to anyone else. If payment is made with your credit card, your credit card number is briefly sent via secured socket to Bank of America’s credit card authorization center for verification and approval. Additionally your credit card information is not stored on our servers


What information do you collect about me?

Every time you visit our Web site, we automatically collect your Internet service provider’s address, the Web page from which you came, and a record of your activity on our site. We do not use this information to identify you personally.
When you purchase from our site or request a catalog, we collect information that you volunteer such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number and other information necessary to process your order or send you your items purchased or the catalog.
We also collect the information you provide to us when you register for "My Account", make a donation, participate in a promotion effort, fill out a survey or questionnaire, or otherwise contact us.

Credit card fraud is virtually non-existent on the Internet, but it could happen. If you experience fraudulent use of your credit card as a result of shopping with Copper Canyon Press, simply notify your credit card company in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures. Most companies will either cover all of the fraudulent purchases or hold you liable for a maximum of $50.00.
Before entering your credit card information you will notice that your browser will switch to secure mode. This is normally shown by a key or lock symbol on your browser’s status bar.
This tells you that you have successfully begun to encrypt (scramble) information transferred from you to the Internet. This technology is known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and is known to be a very safe means for encrypting data over the Internet. We support up to 128-bit security depending on the country you live in and the browser you are using.
We have appropriate security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site so you can feel comfortable and secure when shopping. When you see either a solid key icon or a locked padlock icon at the lower portion of your browser window then the site is secured through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
